The Shanghai Containerized Freight Index reflects weighted average spot container freight rates from Shanghai to 13 major world ports and serves as a key indicator of China’s export container market. In May 2026 the maximum reached 2571.73 points, the minimum was 1954.21 points and the average stood at 2221.19 points. The index is calculated by the Shanghai Shipping Exchange.
