USD/GEL (National Bank of Georgia)

The official exchange rate of the Georgian lari against foreign currencies is determined by the National Bank of Georgia on a daily basis during business days. The rate for the U.S. Dollar is established through market mechanisms, representing the weighted average exchange rate of spot trades registered within the Bloomberg Trading System (Bmatch platform) and the interbank market between 16:30 of the previous day and 16:30 of the calculation day. Rates for other currencies are derived via cross-currency exchange rates based on international market data. Published no later than 17:00, the official rate becomes effective on the following day and is mandatory for state budget settlements and accounting purposes, while serving as an indicative benchmark for commercial transactions.
