The Lean Hogs index represents a CFD on lean hog carcasses, tracking financially settled lean hog futures traded on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, and serves as a tool for hedging and speculation in the meat industry of the United States, where it acts as a price benchmark for the global pork market. In 2026-02, prices ranged from 86.85 cents/lb to 96.20 cents/lb with an average level of 91.16 cents/lb. The index price is based on the contract for difference of lean hogs, tracking financially settled lean hog futures traded on the CME.
