TLREF (The Turkish Lira Overnight Reference Rate) is the rate at which Turkish banks lend and borrow lira from each other. TLREF is calculated as the volume-weighted mean rate, based on the central 70% of the distribution of rates. The top and the bottom 15% of the traded volumes (related to the highest and the lowest interest rates) are considered outliers and removed from the observations. Only trading volumes for the remaining rates are involved in the calculation of TLREF.
